As we know, poor performing web applications are no longer an option. But how can we ensure that a consistent quality of service is delivered across the different application tiers, and how do we reduce the time (and cost) to identify and fix problems?
This talk is an introduction to Application Performance Management (APM), with the emphasis on monitoring, measuring, and managing the Application rather than the just the infrastructure. We will take a high-level look at the solutions currently out there in the marketplace, how you can implement them along different stages of the SDLC lifecycle (e.g. development, test and production), and a discussion of the pitfalls and problems that are commonly encountered in such implementations
Martin Pinner has been in the APM business for the last 14 years, starting with one of the APM pioneers – Precise. He co-founded Application Performance Ltd and has first-hand experience of the “good, the bad and the ugly” of many APM solutions.
