London Arduino at Maker Faire! Come demo your project + Meetup

  • Jul 6, 2013 · 3:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Our group is helping organise the first London Mini Maker Faire and will showcase our members' projects on the London Arduino booth!

Maker Faire? >>> 1000 visitors, 80 makers booths, workshops, talks, free entrance (and robots)...

Demo Programme:

We're showcasing all day the projects created by our members,
have a look at the programme!

Arduino from simple to spectacular: projects ranging from simple sensors to Arduino Robots and multicopter drones by Michael Margolis

Arduino controlled animatronic eye by Matthew Walker(

OrionRobots by Danny Stapple(

Infra Red Arduino box by Liam Lynch

London Arduino Meetup: Our members are meeting at the stand to catch up, show their latest work, discuss what's new and meet with other maker communities

OWL Programmable Effects Pedalby Martin Klang (

Our group is also joining forces with the Future of Manufacturing group:

- We'll have a joint stand where you will be able to showcase your projects to the visitors and the London Makers scene! (tell us know!)

- If you're a beginner or don't have a project you should still join to meet both groups. Come play with cool toys or take part in the amazing workshops scheduled all day.

Important: You have to grab a free ticket here! And while you're on that page you should register to the cool workshops.

Let's meet at 3pm at our booth, in collaboration with Future Manufacturing group. We'll demo members projects and introduce you to other communities and makers.

For now we have 4 makers showing their work at our stand and there are 2 demo-slot left in the afternoon, check the Doodle here if interested. Also if you can help at the stand for a bit let us know!

In addition to these projects, Liam will bring the demo board he just built for the occasion that shows off to visitors the classic examples when learning the Arduino (Thanks Liam!).

Note: As I am co-organising the Maker Faire this meetup might not be as structured as usual, but I'll promise it will be entertaining!

Great event, I had a fairly quick look at everything. From other reports it sounds like the interactive sessions were very good too. Well done to the everyone who survived the heat to demo their Arduino projects.

Many many thanks to Liam, Danny, Matthew for showcasing their projects and also for braving the heat and engaging so well with the visitors of the maker faire! We had 1500 people coming to the event and I'm sure our group will get stronger and bigger because of that! We talked to so many other communities who are interested in collaborating. We'll try to bring them in our next events to talk about their work and we benefit from each others.
    Let's build on the momentum!

    Hi All,

I have put together a bit of a demo board that shows off 4 of the classic examples when learning the Arduino. I will bring it to the Maker Fair, So that if or when you are haniging out at our stand, and a member of the public starts asking basic questions, and you want a visual aid to help explain things without getting 'too' techie, or pulling appart your own project, Then it will be there to help you, help others...

Check out the Google Group for more information.

Hope it will be of help and if you are not brining anything of your own then you will have something to demonstrate.

Would be nice to have a new logo for our Maker Faire booth. Anyone wants to have a go at designing one? Would be good for your portfolio...
