More about Sara:
Sara Farouk is a dancer, award winning actress, choreographer and director who has worked professionally in Europe, Egypt, North Africa and Turkey, across TV, Film and Theater. After studying at Hull and Dartington Colleges of Arts, Sara qualified as a teacher of Dance and Drama at Rolle College of Education, England. She first visited Egypt in the early 1980s while pursuing her acting career, and took her first classes in Egyptian dance. She then taught and performed in London and nurtured the performance group BANAT EL MADINA (of which I was a member!).
After gaining an honours degree in anthropology of the Middle East from SOAS she moved to Egypt. She has been living and working there for the last 12 years and, after directing dance and drama extravaganzas in Sharm el Sheikh and Luxor, she now collaborates regularly with Eman Zaki and Randa Kamel.
