'Rain room' at the Barbican followed by a show

You may have heard of the 'rain room' - an art installation which received rave reviews at the Barbican and involves a room where it rains everywhere except where you are (although that's not guaranteed!).

It's supposed to be a unique experience and, best of all, it's free!

This meetup is scheduled on a weekday afternoon to try and avoid the long queues - it is usually a two hour wait.

The venue is at the Barbican which always has a million different things going on; Kevin has suggested going to a show afterwards: Tatyana - a contemporary dance troupe from Brazil. I'll post this as a separate event for those who are interested.

Meet Kevin 3.45pm - 4pm so that everyone can join the queue together (phone number will be supplied). After 4pm you will need to join the back of the line!

See you there!

So long as you take your kagools off when you're in the rain room - that would be cheating ;-)

And you can also join us after visiting the Rain Room at the Barbican Lounge bar on Floor 1 two fights up from Theatre Floor -1. We should be there from about 7pm (or as soon as we leave the Rain Room) until say 5 minutes before the show starts. You can stay on there if you are not joining us for the performance. They sell alcoholic and soft drinks and bar snacks. We will also rendezvous there during the interval as well.

Some performance tickets are still available, but not many - three singles in the Upper Circle near us, and a few pairs in the wings of the Circle.

The main thing is to get in the long queue ASAP so as this event organiser for James here is my mobile number - 07850 765099 - I can get there at 3.45pm but think that it would be unreasonable for others to join us in the same queue position after 4pm. So maybe most could meet up by the Advanced Box Office at 3.45pm and then move into the queue before 4pm to be certain to get in that afternoon. This is what happens when a popular installation is free!

James will be joining for the evening performance of Tatyana along with another group of friends so for those coming along to this as well, we will shortly set a second meeting point around 7pm in a Barbican bar near to the theatre.

Why don't we meet by the advanced box office as it is next to the rain room?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
