WHO WILL HEAR YOUR TALENT IF YOU ONLY....whisper?
London Songwriters is an inclusive and welcoming songwriting community where lyricists, composers and music producers of all levels and genres have met at least once a month for the last seven years to collaborate, share songs for feedback, attend retreats and develop their craft. It has been an important part of the journey for hundreds of budding songsmiths many of whom have gone on to garner record releases and TV/Radio airplay.
(Above is a selection of fully produced songs written in 90 minutes at London Songwriters Collaboration workshops)
These practical workshops feature songshare with feedback, comfortably challenging collaboration briefs and songcraft presentations along with occasional industry guests, community performances and countryside retreats. We have also sourced song pitching opportunities - you do not have to be an accomplished performer to attend and you are guaranteed to learn something new and meet new friends and collaborators!
Above all, the workshops are about mutual support, enjoyment and a safe space to develop your ideas in an unpressured and friendly environment - the group comments will testify to how supportive we are.
Murray Webster has over 40 years experience as a multi-genre songwriter, having performed at some of the most prestigious music venues including The Astoria, The Hammersmith Palais, The Forum, The Mint (LA) and Douglas Corner Cafe (Nashville). He has a Masters Degree in Songwriting, an FE teaching qualification and has facilitated twice-monthly London Songwriters collaboration/song critique workshops for the last five years, as well as five enthusiastically received residential countryside songwriting retreats. He has pitched his own broadcast quality recordings to Film/TV opportunities and also records his own personal Pop/Rock, Country and Folk material. His latest self-produced track ‘Summer’s Day (Shall I Compare Thee)’ is featured on a compilation album celebrating this year’s Shakespeare 400 centenary and part of a project featured in The Guinness Book Of Records.
