Hey Gals & Guys,

Here's an update on what's going on with our meetup in the month of April!  Firstly though I'd like to thank everyone who came up to our first flatlands meetup in central park.  We had a great time and we saw a lot of talented skaters come out and have a good time.  Thanks everyone!  These are the upcoming meetups this month, but check out the meetup Party on the 21st at good ol' Uncle Funks!

Today Ian is hosting a Central Park and city skate starting at 1pm at Columbus circle.  If you're not neck deep in your work clothes I suggest you grab your board and head to the park! Also tonight is the weekly friday night rip in prospect park, and the weathers great so I'm sure skaters will be out in force!

Tomorrow is the first Earthwing Money Cup Hard Wheel slide competition on Dark Tower in the upper west side.  This contest will feature NYC's best hard wheel skaters, as well as a lot of lookyloos on soft wheels.  Prepare to have your mind blown by incredible standup[masked]ness, as well as huge early-grabs and all sorts of tricks that you're not prepared to see from the EW team and so many more.

Sunday will be our second Flatland Skate in Central Park.  We had a great time at the first one hanging out in central with 15 awesome skaters, and I'm hoping to see the same crew again and then some!  We'll work on the basics of foot-breaking and dance steps, as well as showcase our better flatland tricks.

Saturday the 14th we will be doing our first Slide Clinic in Prospect Park.  Next week we'll be meeting to work on our colemans, toesides and other types of slides on the nice open roads of Prospect Park.  Afterwords we will skate to a local BK bar and grab some grub and a pint to wash down what we've learned that day.

Saturday Night the 21st is our first ever MEETUP PARTY @ UNCLE FUNKYS!  On Saturday the 21st we will be getting together at Uncle Funkys board shop in the lower west side to have a drink and get to know our fellow skaters.  This event is open to the whole NYC skate community so it will likely be a pretty ridiculous party!  We will be providing refreshments, and if you have any ideas on helping sponsor this please shoot me an email, so come join us in celebrating our community! Please be responsible for yourself, and if you are under 21 some soft drinks will be provided.

Sunday the 29th will be our first distance skate in the city. We will be Skating the Riverside Drive down from 122nd st to Uncle Funkys and beyond!  After we hit the nice hilly streets of the upper west, we will be skating down to the lower west and stop by one of our favorite shops.  Afterwords we will continue onto a local bar and put our heels up while we reflect on our schralpy day!

We've got a lot of great stuff lined up for April, do yourself a favor and don't miss a thing! (seriously don't even close your eyes)

Ride Hard, Ride Safe, Have Fun!
