Bitcoin meets Silicon Beach

You are invited to a panel event discussing Bitcoin and the massive opportunities it presents to the Silicon Beach/Los Angeles startup community.

DETAILS:

The future of money is here.

Bitcoin is on a global rampage to disrupt and transform money as we know it. With the total Bitcoin marketplace now reaching $1.5 billion and accelerating with double-digit growth month over month, Bitcoin is entering into the next stage of the adoption curve in a big way. As the US government slowly legitimizes Bitcoin as an alternative currency, investors are diving in, and it has opened the floodgates of new opportunities for entrepreneurs.

Meanwhile, over the last several years, Los Angeles has built up a vibrant startup scene filled with incredibly talented developers, designers, marketers, investors, accelerators and entrepreneurs.

At this panel event, we'll be introducing Bitcoin to the broader Silicon Beach startup community and discussing the many opportunities that exist in the Bitcoin ecosystem for entrepreneurs and makers. Let's make Los Angeles the Bitcoin capital of the world!

Food and drinks are graciously provided by our sponsor BitPay.

Hi everyone! First I want to say thank you again to the organizers and presenters of B meets Silicon Beach. It was exciting, informative and delicious! ;) A whole new world is expanding for me! I have decided to sell one of my Satoshi Nakamoto White Paper 5th Anniversary 1ozT Silver pieces. I have heard that there are less than 100 of these and the Mint will destroy the hallmark on NOvember 1, 2013. Of the Bitcoin Specie pieces, these are collectible and are worth more than their weight in silver. :). I do hope I am not breaking etiquette rules by posting the link here, as I very much appreciate this group. I will be happy to take it down immediately if there is an issue. Barring that :), I am so happy to be part of this expanding world and look forward to seeing Bitcoin/cryptocurrency technology grow!

Great event last night...almost all 100ish people in the room raised their hand to "Do you own Bitcoin?" Next event needs to be a technical deep dive! Maybe the week before Vegas?

Well over 100 people attended, and what a spread! Truly one of the best MeetUps I've been to in a while, quite informative, discussing topics including: bitcoin and merchants, uncertainties in the early market, consumer protection, blockchain and micro-transactions, wallets, reputation management, escrow, and guesses at future value of BTC. Great to listen to companies including BitPay, CoinMTK (CoinMarket), TravelForCoins, etc.

Hey everyone, we're really looking forward to tomorrow night's event. I see a ton of new faces, and we're all glad to have you join us. We'll be starting at 7pm for some food, drinks and networking. The presentations will start promptly at 7:30pm starting with an introduction to Bitcoin by Tony Gallippi, followed by the panel with all of our guests and some Q&A. If you want to hang out after, we'll continue the party over at Bodega wine bar down the street. All are welcome. See you tomorrow night!

Wow, 91 people have RSVPd so far! Does Coloft has a big enough room?

    October 7, 2013

    • Micah W.

@Joie, @Steve, thanks for offering to help! I'll be there all day working from Coloft, but if you want to get there around 6:15 to set up that would be super helpful. @Rob, we have beer and wine, and are working on getting food. It would be definitely helpful if you want to command the refreshments station. Food and beer is arriving at 6:30, I'm bringing the wine. (Can't tell by your comment

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
