July Scala Users Group Meetup

Details
This month we'll have a couple of short talks and hackery. Both will be aimed at people who are currently not Scala programmers but are curious.
First up, Ben Hardy will introduce Scala from the point of view of the Java programmer, i.e. how Scala compares with Java for writing code to run on the JVM. We'll go over how Scala addresses many of Java's pain points, and makes your coding life much more pleasant.
Ryan Deak will talk about how eHarmony is using Scala more advanced features for numerical analysis and delve into Scala's functional side.
Each talk will be followed by Q&A and hack time. Food and refreshments will be provided.
We encourage you to download and install Scala before coming (wifi will be provided though), as we will be trying commands in the Scala REPL shell.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
