What's So Great About... the Corona Mobile SDK !

Very exciting last minute change! DO NOT MISS THIS AND COME EARLY TO GET A FRONT ROW SEAT !

MAIN EVENT: What's So Great About... the Corona Mobile SDK !

The Corona SDK is a huge - maybe the biggest - cross-platform mobile development sdk. Primarily geared towards games and animation but not limited to that. I ran into Crossman Wilkins at the Mobile Dev group and he showed me the code and all the cool things you can do with it in 5 minutes. You can animate on object in a line or two of code, it's that easy, and it runs all its mobile emulators with a click - iPhone, Android, Kindle, and Nook. It compiles to native code so all the stores accept it. This is a really FUN and IMPRESSIVE presentation. I guarantee you will want to try it out once you see it. Crossman is actually teaching it at several colleges so he has more than enough material and has his own cool demos to show - some of which are already selling in the app stores.

INTRO EVENT: Startup Weekend Survival Guide

Startup Weekends, Weekend Hackathons, and similar events are high-energy fast-ramp learning events. Richard's now attended 3 of them (LA Startup Weekend, Mobile Hackathon, Hollywood Hackathon) and gotten more out of each while suffering less! :) He will share his survival and benefit-maximization tips at this Meetup.

Both topics are technical but will be of interest to developers and business people wanting to learn more about how to put these technologies to work.

This location is now called COWORKS in the same space that was BLANKSPACES. The new sign isn't up yet so just remember it's right next to Buca di Beppo on 2nd St.
