Amazon will be here to present the latest info on their many on-demand service offerings.

Amazon recently sent several reps down to Santa Monica to meet with startups at Launchpad LA, an incubator where I happen to be CTO'ing a startup, and what they have is so valuable and incredible that I had to get them to come talk to our group!

Amazon offers many cloud services, from hot storage to cold storage (and the newest cold storage is very, very low cost). They have a queuing service (message stack), database services from key-value stores to object-databases to classic, servers on demand, cpu's on demand (ranging from tiny to huge) - they also have a "human cpu" service called "mechanical turk". They have server images ready to deploy just by turning them on, or you can upoad your own into storage, ready to turn on.

And they even have tools to manage their tools.

Over a year ago, now-successful startup Gum Gum came to our group to present AWS and how they had started a server-intensive business without building any datacenters. But AWS has come even further since then.

Many of the hottest startups and services you use are built on top of AWS. AWS makes whole new business models possible.

This is a technical presentation for developers, IT managers, startup founders, and the like. Amazon will be sending their people to talk to us just following their annual conference, so there are sure to be new announcments and services to find out about.
