Big Data: Lions, and Tigers and Pig Ohh My
You know Big Data is all about data sets that are not best served on a traditional RDBMS, but what does that really mean to you? In this session, we look at Big Data through a developer’s eyes. What is Apache Hadoop, how does it work, how can I get started without waiting 111 days to download a massively large dataset, and what the heck is thing called Pig Latin anyway? These questions and more are answered as we work through setting up a local single node hadoop cluster and then look at various cloud providers as we burst to the web without breaking the bank. Kick back and enjoy as we take a stroll with Big Data.
