The Louisville Open Source Programming Meetup Group Monthly Meetup

Last month's program was abruptly interrupted by a power outage just as Mike ("Stew") O'Connor was about to begin his presentation on Debian Package Management. So he will be presenting this month.

Stew is a member of the Debian Development Team and has responsibilities dealing with wrapping it all up into those nifty "apt" (aptitude and Synaptic) packages we're all so familiar with. So he'll be able to give us a superior overview of the architecture of the system and answer any questions, both beginner and advanced, we might have.

Along the way, maybe we'll glean some insight into how open source projects actually work.

There is time for additional presentations or discussions too if anyone is so inspired. (Unfortunately, Ben W. won't be able to make it back this month to continue the Android topic.) Come and share what great things you've been doing ... or what great problems you've encountered trying to do it.

Pizza is served at 6:30!

PS. If this is your first time to attend, we meet at LVL1, Louisville's Hackerspace, which is located in the rear of 814 East Broadway, on the south side of Broadway between Logan and Shelby streets. Park in the ORI parking lot on Shelby, cross the alley and enter LVL1 through the alley entrance. (Don't be offput by the talk of alley entrances; this is actually a very open and well lit area.)

PPS. Don't be mislead by our RSVP count on Meetup; we usually have 16 to 20 people show up for our meetings.
