"Creating heart-conscious, touch-positive culture by fostering communal opportunities to share authentic connection, affection and play." -- from http://lovetribe.org
LoveTribe-Austin-TX, also referred to as “Austin LoveTribe,” is affiliated with the non-profit organization LoveTribe.org based in Portland, Oregon. We are a non-commercial, non-profit group.
Austin LoveTribe welcomes all genders, sexual orientations, and lifestyles.
Whenever possible meetups are held at handicap accessible locations.
The purpose of the group is to provide opportunities for experiencing connection with adults who are touch positive, sex positive and love positive. The level of connection may be anywhere from superficial to extremely deep.
Meetups range from small group get-togethers at private homes for members only, to big parties open to members and non-members. Activities will include discussions, boundary-keeping exercises, group-building exercises, sensuality exercises, intimacy exercises, massage, cuddling, dancing, etc. Some meetups are gender balanced (with adjustments for various sexual orientations). Some meetups may be for one gender only. Some meetups may be an activity planned by another group or a business. Suggestions for meetups, or activities to include in a meetup, are welcome from all members.
Some meetups may be considered emotionally or sexually edgy. See LoveTribe.org for a description of the edgier events (click on “Gatherings” at the top of the LoveTribe.org home page).
A high priority of LoveTribe is that all the meetups be safe, so there will be people at each meetup whose responsibility is to keep an eye out for potentially unsafe situations and to take appropriate action when they become aware of an unsafe situation. But each participant is also responsible for taking care of their own safety.
Most meetups will not have a required entrance fee, but will have an opportunity to give a little something (2-10 typically) to help reimburse the organizers' and hosts for their expenses. Some meetups may include potluck dinners or potluck snacks.
For several reasons, including the requirement of signed releases of liability for many of our gatherings, you must be 18 or older to join.
Most all meetups have a confidentiality agreement. It is perfectly okay to talk with anyone about what went on during a meetup, but you are not to identify who said or did what at a meetup without their permission.
We recognize that different people have different boundaries and expect members of Austin LoveTribe to respect other members' boundaries and to let other members know about their own boundaries when appropriate.
All events are drug free and most events are alcohol free.
We encourage you to also become a member of LoveTribe.org to find out what LoveTribe is about in more detail and about what's going on in other parts of he country. We are in the Austin region. LoveTribe.org is free to join. Link: http://lovetribe.org
We are using a relatively new feature of Meetup.com, the Discussion Forums. To get to them, click on the menu item "Discussions." One forum is open to both members and non-members, the others are open to members only, and we have one for discussions among the Leadership Team only.
