As an entrepreneur, you know that the answers to certain legal questions can make or break your business. Do you know the best way to split the company’s equity? What are the tax implications for the different types of business structures, and what exactly is the significance of an 83(b) election? Is your intellectual property adequately protected? Should you hire independent contractors or employees?

Everyone will tell you that a good business attorney will provide vital assistance in almost every aspect of your business. However, not everyone will tell you lawyers need you just as much. Lawyers who focus on startup issues need to be around entrepreneurs to keep their fingers on the pulse of the startup community. They need to learn from entrepreneurs modern methods of operating a business, and technologies that may influence the practice of law for years to come. And yes, lawyers need clients too.

That’s why we created Lunchtime with Lawyers, a networking event unlike any other for both the attorney and the entrepreneur. A new concept, we envision this to begin as an informal lunchtime networking session with an opportunity for entrepreneurs to ask practicing attorneys and other professionals questions about legal issues. In the future, depending on demand, we can offer such unique activities as business plan hot-seats or roundtable discussions.
