Multi-Sport Adventure Group aka "MAG" is a group of adults mostly in their 20's and 30's who share an enthusiasm and interest for intermediate to advance adventure activities.

We welcome singles and couples who like getting thrills through activities like Rock Climbing, Canyoneering, Hiking, Kayaking, White Water Rafting, Bungee Jumping, Skydiving, Hot Air Ballooning, Camping, Backpacking, Mountaineering, ATVing, Sailing, Flying Trapeze, Snowmobling, Snow Skiing, Snowboarding, Water Skiing, Jet Skiing, Paragliding, Hang Gliding, Wine Tasting and more. From local weekends to world journeys... together, we'll discover amazing destinations and incredible adventures.

One of the intentions of this group is to have members that are active, keeping the size of the meetup events at a reasonable number, and to develop REAL friendships and camaraderie.

Please take a moment to check out our calendar of upcoming events. This is a great community of adventure seekers! We do cater to people of all skill levels and to a variety of interests... from beginners to advance. We are not experts at all adventures and will take classes to learn or improve our skills. In addition, we welcome anyone who is skilled in a certain area and interested in organizing and leading future adventures to please contact us.

When we can MAG organizers will hire professional guides with local knowledge or skills to help us on our events. We at MAG also know it's hard to always be active in the outdoors so we will also periodically have social meet up as well. Things like going out golfing or just going out for drinks.

Organizers in MAG are volunteers who help facilitate group trips. Normally, these trips are over a weekend to destinations in the Midwest, within a three to eight hour drive from Chicago. We also take into account that most of us have very busy lives and can not always accommodate multi-day trips, so we have a variety of single day trips. We plan most of our events for fun as well as adventure.

Oh yeah.... and there's a bonus! We are able to negotiate great discounts for our members for all kinds of activities. There's power in numbers and our mission is for everyone to have fun, meet new friends and save money. So what are you waiting for... join today and lets have some fun!

A little about the group Founder.

After being an organizer for several meet up groups for a few years I thought it was time to start my own group in 2011. I wanted to plan more advance trips, explore new places, and give my organizers the freedom to plan anything fun.

MAG was born after a few of us met at a signals snow tubing event back in 2008. We then grew through meeting each others friends on hikes and other actives over the year. Then after discovering the meet up site in late Summer 2008 and a few other great Chicago meet up groups the family grew.

The group name was born on a car ride home from a hike in the spring of 2008. We were thinking of a name to call the adventure group and someone came up with is N2BD (Name to be Determined). We called this meet up group N2BD Outdoor Adventure for the first seven months and then we changed it to MAG (Multi-Sport Adventure Group). It is easier to say and remember.

Dues and Fees:

There are no membership dues to join this group but every Meetup Group has to pay a fee to Meetup.com to have their group exist. For prepay events, we will sometimes add one to three dollars to the payment to help out with the Meetup.com monthly fees.



Participation in any group activity with this MAG Adventure Group is at your own risk.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, you waive any claims against, and agree to indemnify and hold harmless the MAG Group, its affiliates, organizers, officers, directors and contractors from, all claims or liability of every type (including court costs and legal fees) for injury or death to any person or for damage to property arising out of or relating to your participation as a member. This agreement applies to you and any other party who may accompany you in these endeavors.
