MAKE! Chicago Open Shop Night - GRAND REOPENING!!!
Details
Hey, Makers!
We're all moved in to our new space and we are gearing up for one Heck of a grand opening! We would like to invite all of you to hang out for a very special Open Shop Night, filled with fun crafting activities, burlesque and sideshow performances, demos, presentations, and more.
The Grand Opening will coincide with Third Fridays in Bridgeport. There will be open studio nights, gallery openings, and a whole host of cool stuff going on in the neighborhood. We hope you will make a night of it, and come by our new space to see what's cooking!
Here's what we have planned so far:
Box Making Workshop. Make a Joseph Cornell inspired rustic box and decorate it with found objects and other odds and ends.
Book Binding Workshop. Learn the basics of making and decorating a notebook or sketchbook
Open studios. In addition to MAKE! Chicago, a few other artists in the building will open their doors to show you what they are all about.
Performances. Around sunset, a few of our performer friends are going to do some sideshow activities, including burlesque, fire dancing, and a few other surprises!
Food! We'll be inviting a couple food trucks stop by the building throughout the evening.
Music. Still working on this one. I'm hoping to add some live music to the mix for the night.
Short story is: this is going to be one fun shindig with lots to see and do. It's a great time to get crafty, network with other creative folks, or just chill and watch. Bring along your friends and family and have a blast!
