What good can one do with a Software-Defined Data Center (or SD System)?

January 2014 MESS Meetup:  SDSys Overview: Components & Services

Join the "new MESS" (Media/Entertainment & Scientific Systems) as we explore how to build modern infrastructure using a Software-Defined Systems (SDSys) framework.

SDSys enables central, self-managing control over the full range of computing resources: processing/GPU, storage, network, security, and external cloud. The SDSys model intelligently links the control interface of individual devices into an orchestrated system, resulting in a real-time optimized processing center in which overlapping workloads run efficiently, reliably, and cost-effectively.

The January MESS session will be an overview of the SDSys model: Components, Services & Interfaces for building and operating infrastructure that assembles, configures, and tunes itself.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE MEETUPS HAVE CHANGED TO EVERY SECOND THURSDAY OF EACH MONTH (due to holidays, Jan MESS will be held 3rd Thursday)

Let's kick off the new year with a new MESS outlook!

See you soon.

I understand that the meetup is recorded for the web and or pod casts but slides and or diagrams would be extremely useful. Just a thought but it might be beneficial to give handouts to the attendees but do not reference the material when engaging the panel. I just believe some type of diagram or flow chart would better convey the concepts and ideas.

Agree Richard. It's always a toss up what method of presenting is most useful. Some people prefer open discussion without a slide deck and others the opposite. Your suggestion of a handout may be a way to go. thanks for your input. Denise
