"Let's get dinner."
One person pictures a combo meal in front of the TV. Another pictures a lingering meal at a dark, romantic restaurant. Same words, two very different evenings.
Shift the language from what to do to how to feel, and the whole conversation changes.
This FREE 1-hour Online Workshop was originally developed for sex therapists, but it applies across the human experience. Whenever clients use words like intimacy, romantic, or date night, they may mean very different things. This session gives you a simple way to help them name the experience they want, not just the activity they're proposing.
Workshop takeaways:
✔️ Help clients express the need behind their request
✔️ Translate what clients want to do into how they want to feel
✔️ Broaden client perspectives beyond their own worldview
✔️ Use feelings-based language to deepen understanding
✔️ Reduce conflict caused by misunderstandings
Who should come: Counselors and clinicians who want stronger communication tools, especially those working with couples, relationships, or sexuality. [Confirm whether pre-licensed clinicians and interns are welcome.]
