What we’re about
Hello MKE and beyond!!
This group welcomes anyone of any skill level and background who has an interest in Python development.
UPDATE: Previous organize Jack Camier now organizes meetups in the Dallas Fort Worth area in Texas. Texas has a virtual meetup, PyTexas, that meets the first Tuesday of the month. Jack has asked that PyTexas events be cross posted on this channel so y'all have something to attend. We hope to see y'all there!
One of the most wonderfully surprising things about Python, beyond the awesomeness of the language itself, is the great global Python community. Whether you're a hobbyist or a professional, this group is about building a local MKE Python community and a bridge to the broader Python community. We're here to help each other grow and connect in a fun, low-key, welcoming environment. We are also a bridge to the broader regional, national, and global Python communities for those interested in plugging in.
We're always looking for speakers and venues to host either talks or workshops.
We're also always interested in sponsors. If you're a company looking to build a connection to the MKE developer community, please reach out.
Our meetups primary focuses are:
- Introduction and Help getting started with Python: Installation, Coding Basics for all skill levels, Coding for entrepreneurs, Coding for kids, Building your First project, or Solving that annoying thing that should just work.
- Data Science: Pandas, Matplotlib, Scikit-Learn, Juypter, Anaconda, Dask, TensorFlow, Keras, etc.
- Web Development: Django, Flask, Tornado, etc.
- Anything and Everything Else Python:
• DevTools: PyTest, PyCharm, pip packaging
• DevOps and Infrastructure: Ansible, Fabric, etc.
• IOT: MicroPython, Zerynth, etc.

Sincerely,
Kevin

This month we are excited to be joined by Akshay Mittal
Speaker: Akshay Mittal
Topic: AI in the Cloud: Modern Software Stacks & Cloud-Native Best Practices Featuring “CloudyBot” – an AI-Powered DevOps Assistant ChatbotThe rapid adoption of cloud-native technologies has fundamentally reshaped software engineering, enabling faster innovation, increased scalability, and improved reliability. Integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into modern cloud-native software stacks offers transformative potential, streamlining operations, enhancing decision-making, and automating complex tasks. This presentation explores the intersection of AI and cloud-native development, highlighting best practices for integrating intelligent solutions into contemporary software architectures. Featuring a practical demonstration of "CloudyBot," an AI-powered DevOps assistant chatbot, attendees will witness firsthand how large language models (LLMs) can effectively address real-world DevOps challenges, such as troubleshooting, deployment strategies, and operational inquiries. Participants will gain insights into leveraging AI-driven tools, such as OpenAI and Hugging Face transformers, to enhance their workflows, improve operational efficiency, and maintain robust cloud infrastructures.
