All-American Dog Fest

Our planning committee has been hard at work for the past two months, and I'm happy to announce that All-American Dog Fest is shaping up to be a huge success!

What is All-American Dog Fest?

All-American Dog Fest is a celebration in honor of National Pit Bull Awareness Day. The event will be held on Sunday, October 25th from 12-5pm at the West St Paul Armory on Robert Street. Three stages of guest speakers, dog demonstrations, contests, and family-friendly activities are all part of this free event.

This event is our opportunity to bring together the Twin Cities dog community to celebrate all breeds of dogs while highlighting positive traits of the American Pit Bull Terrier. With all of the recent press on the nearly 400 pit bulls seized during a multi-state dog fight bust and the controversy over Michael Vick's return to the NFL, we feel it's more important than ever to showcase that pit bulls can be a positive addition to the community.

Our goal for this year is simple - promote responsible ownership and equal representation of all breeds. Too often, you do not see pit bulls or other bully breeds at public events because of negative breed stereotypes. At All-American Dog Fest, we hope to give responsible owners the opportunity to showcase that their dogs are just as deserving of attention and respect, and are not the big scary dogs some people make them out to be.

More information about All-American Dog Fest is available at Yup, that's right, we launched a new website for MN Bully Lovers in honor of this event. Don't worry, though....we'll continue to use our regular meetup website until the new website is fully functional.

How can you help make All-American Dog Fest a success?

In addition to spreading the word about the event and encouraging people to attend, there are two big ways you can help.

1) Volunteer your time. From passing out flyers and hanging posters to volunteering for a shift at the event, there are several opportunities available for individuals and families to get involved. Most volunteer positions do not require a big time committment. If you are interested in volunteering your time, please email me your Name, Email Address, and Phone Number.

2) Help raise funds for the event. MN Bully Lovers members are able to make financial contributions online at Contributions can be made for any amount - let's face it, times are tough, and even a $5 contribution is appreciated. Can't contribute personally, but have friends and family who support our cause? Set up your own personal fundraising page through the "Join Group" link at and collect donations on behalf of our event. To make things fun, the top 5 fundraisers will win cool prizes.

Keep an eye out over the next couple weeks for more information about All-American Dog Fest and opportunities to get involved, either as an attendee or a volunteer.
