WOUF! WOOF! (a bilingual hello)
We hope you enjoyed the above videos. OUR VIEW OF THIS GROUP IS PURELY SOCIAL! Ideas abound as to what this group can, could, should and will be. We will endeavor to have many different types of on and off-leash activities. It is uniquely for the socialization of the dogs (and their owners).REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERSHIP: Please answer the several questions that are asked when you join us. And please, you MUST post a current picture of your 4-legged companion(s) (you may also be in the picture).MEMBERSHIP IN THIS GROUP IS FREE! However, all social functions, should there be a $$ cost $$ involved, will be shared, equally, by those who wish to partake in that particular event. A voluntary donation of $5.00/person/dog should be made to the organizer at each get-together (this is to help defray the cost of this site).
We are not limited to having only members from Montreal - anyone is welcome from any other surrounding areas. All activities will be promoted via FACEBOOK and TWITTER (plus other social medias) as well as sent to all our personal contacts. You may do the same by cross-posting.
We will not dictate to anyone on how, nor when, to use any dog park. Dog parks are public property and are there for us. It is our responsibility to use them responsibly. We will not have any contact with the municipal authorities regarding anything related to any city property. We do not want to create or be involved in any municipal legal, or other, issues. However, as a dog group, we strongly recommend that all members adhere to all of the rules of the dog park being used. These rules, and guidelines, are usually posted on the fences, or in close proximity, to the dog run. We would also like to stress that all group members abide by the City of Montreal bylaw, R.R.V.M. c. C-10 @ http://files.meetup.c... or any bylaw covering the municipality that you may live in or visit. For your information a complete list of the Quebec Dog Parks, and the facilities available, as well as some comments, may be seen @http://files.meetup.c... We will accept any breed, size, age, sex, etc. But, if it is aggressive, we ask you, the owner, to please ensure that your pet is under your complete control at all times. We request that all dogs be neutered and have their complete up-to-date vaccinations. All owners should have their dogs' health certificates and identification papers with them just in case there is an incident. All animals should be wearing their respective municipal licenses, vaccination tag(s) plus some type or form of identification tag which indicates your animals name and your emergency telephone number(s). NB: Even if your animal has a chip, or is tattooed, this tag makes it much easier for a lost dog to be found and much quicker for you to be notified of its location. We will not intervene in any matters concerning disputes between dog owners resulting from any dog disagreements and/or fights unless it is our own dog that is involved. Nor will we intervene involving differences amongst any type(s) of animal activists. Any dispute will be up to the respective dog owners to iron out amongst themselves calmly, respectfully and attentively to each other. We are a social group and are here to be informed about animal related issues and

During the winter months (November 1st to April 30th) our outdoor activities may be limited. We may try to get (or rent) a hall where we will be able to conduct monthly meetings and informative forums. Unfortunately, should an indoor venue not be dog-friendly, “humans' best friend” may have to stay at home. We will attempt to contact guest speakers such as: Veterinarians to discuss animal health issues; Groomers to discuss animal hygiene and grooming; Experts on animal behavioral problems; Experts on training, agility, etc; Experts on animal nutrition; A manufacturer and/or supplier of animal cookies and treats; A manufacturer and/or supplier of animal foods; plus other manufacturers and/or suppliers of various animal related products; They will be invited to speak and promote their particular business, products and/or services. We may try to organize Bar-B-Q’s, picnic's, a dog fashion show, a dog parade (costumes or not), media softball games, pool parties, country outings, etc.We will also tie into other animal related events such as the N.D.G. Pet Fest, Beaconsfield Pet Fair plus any others, that we may not know about as of yet. We will also endeavor to take part in the many charity walks and/or events that take place in, and around, Montreal and the suburbs. As well we as a group, or individually, will support any other local animal association, club, rescue group, etc. by posting and/or attending their fund-raisers and/or events which they may schedule (and we hope they will reciprocate). It is up to each individual member to decide on which function they will attend and/or support. We would also please ask all members to R.S.V.P. (see 'WILL YOU ATTEND' / 'YES or NO') your intentions to be a part of our function(s). All members who have shown no interest either in attending, or even looking at this site, for more than 12 months may be removed from the group. The quality and success of this group, & any event, is subject to the number of participants. We, as a group or individually, will also partake, if we are welcomed, in non-dog related events such as the March for Cancer, the March for Aids, the March to Jerusalem, the Terry Fox Run, Black and Blue, etc.Your input is very important to us and we welcome all of your ideas and suggestions. Seeing as there will be many of these, it would be much appreciated if you could put them in writing and e-mail them to us (see 'Contact Us' just below the organizers' picture). Please be precise in your posting(s) so that we can understand your idea(s)/suggestion(s). Also please include a web link, or a link to the page, for the suggested location, if available.DISCLAIMERS: Members should be advised that there are certain risks inherent in attending any dog event, and all members, guests, and non-member participants agree to accept personal responsibility for their own safety and the safety of their dogs. While we strive to keep our meetups as safe as possible, we cannot ensure the safety of any participant attending the meetup (human or canine). In participating in activities, each such person agrees to hold harmless and free from blame the organizers, hosts, or any other member, for any accident, injury, or illness which might be sustained from participating in the meetup activities.Any photographs taken by any member or guest during any of our events, and submitted to this site, become the property of the Montreal Active Dogs MeetUp Group and may be used in any group, or any other, promotional materials.
