Marina Park Sand / Grass Volleyball Sunday 3/9/2014

Please join us on Sunday March 9, 2014 at Marina Park.  We will be playing sand and grass volleyball.  Set up will start at 12pm and play will go till dark (7:00pm).  The weather should be good.  Beginner level players should come after 2:00pm.   For all other players, feel free to come sooner to setup or practice.  We will limit play at Marina Park to two Sundays a month and rotate in other venues.  Hope to see you out there!

If you want to help the group, you can visit the San Leandro Ono and Nubi between March 9 and March 30th.  Print the flyer attached in the "More" and "Files" tab, and give it to our sponsors when making a purchase.  They will set aside a small amount for gear on every purchase made between those dates.  The sponsor fundraiser flyer must be given to the cashier with your purchase in order to qualify.

About MPV (formed July 2010):

Play is on sand and grass at Marina Park (San Leandro) every Sunday in any weather.  We always welcome more skilled players (B, BB, A, AA) and C/Beginning players aspiring to improve. We play under FIVB Beach rules for doubles and triples. For 4s, 5s, and 6s, the court can play under FIVB Beach or Indoor rules.

There are two SAND courts and two GRASS courts dedicated to DOUBLES: For each surface, the level is BB/A/AA on one court and C/B/higher on the other. The winning team plays again (or has the option to relinquish to the next challengers). Other grass courts are for 3 to 6 players per side, typically C and/or B.

Advanced venues: Play is on sand only (mostly doubles) at Ocean Beach (San Francisco), Mission Bay Creek Park (San Francisco), Clark Kerr Campus (Berkeley), Fremont Tennis Center (Fremont), Alameda Beach, Montara Beach, and Santa Cruz Beach. We play under FIVB Beach rules for doubles.

Sonia's son may have placed their house and car keys in someone else's bag. Could folks check their bags to make sure they don't have the lost keys? Thanks in advance!

Marina Park rules for dogs is they need to be on a leash. Beginners normally come later in the day. 2pm sounds about right.

Thanks for answering my questions so quickly. One more: I've never played on the grass. So, do I play with shoes or no at all. Is there a preference?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
