My Vision for Management Professionals Club is to offer opportunities to its members to socialize, coach, mentor and learn from each other.

Main focus of this meetup is to discuss different management topics, share our experiences, as well as to socialize with other professionals.

We will talk about topics as general as business or project management to as specific as contract management, risk management, team building and every thing in between and of course other related topics that interest Effective Managers!

Who should join: Anyone who is in management, trying to get into management, students in final years of their management studies who want to socialize with others in the field. Professionals who are interested to teach, or to attend sessions, may be to earn points/PDUs to sustain professional certification in the field of management or just to share their knowledge and learn from others.

Proposed activities:

1. Have meetings just to socialize and casually talk about whatever the participants want to talk about.

2. Have interactive lectures, Q & A and mentoring sessions and panel discussions.

3. Case studies - we can analyze a business situation that is in news or a member is facing and apply our skills to identify root causes and solutions to the situation.

4. Have quarterly book club meetings to discuss a good book on any of the management topics. Members will recommend books and most wanted book will be chosen for reading and next meeting.

5. Talks about project management topics, how you can take all this knowledge and apply in your personal life as well as in your own ventures if you are a self employed etc.

6. Offer opportunities to practice different management skills like presentation, team building, communication through exercises and practice sessions

7. Offer opportunities to members to earn points or PDUs to qualify for professional certifications exams or to sustain the certification.

8. Help, those who want to take the certification test, through discussions and PowerPoint presentations. But objective is not to replace a prep training classes or otherwise formal training but to supplement that. Maintain list of any resources like simulated prep test for PMP etc.

9. Develop list of most commonly or tricky questions asked in interviews for Project and other Management jobs.

10. Have interview practice calls based on members request.

11. Maintain list of training institutes that members have used and have good experience with.

12. Some of the topics I am interested in are Renewable Energy Project, Budgeting and Cost planning and tracking, following standards: PMI, Fed and State laws toward human resource management, other best practices in project management, different popular methodologies in different industries and how this varies from countries to countries. This list will expand as members show interest in other project management related topics.

13. Anything related that members want to do - members will be able to post ideas and most liked ideas will be incorporated as long as it is inline with the purpose of this meetup.
