Asynchronous programming using the Boost Meta State Machine library

The number of places is limited. Please sign up and RSVP if you plan to attend. Thank you!

For our first Meetup of MUC++, Christophe Henry will introduce the Boost.MSM library.

We'll use the Boost Meta State Machine library to write a small Qt application (a CD player simulation).

The asynchronous part will be given to us by Qt's event loop, which will forward events to a state machine serving as central dispatcher. This state machine will manage the whole application.

We'll show how using a state machine will keep such code concise, readable and easy to test.

Stefan Schwarz (E.S.R.Labs GmbH) will give a lightning talk "C++ mojos for embedded environments".

Can we find the slides of the nice talks in slideshare.com or otherwise?

Great talk (and also nice lightening talk before)!
Only downside was that Christophe and Stefan) talked in a low voice.

I found the presentation started off very interesting but lost a bit of substance as it neared the end. I think it is important to limit the time of such presentations, if only to force a clear focus on the contents.

I enjoyed both, the lightning talk (especially the important return types) and the main talk. I am a bit frightened by the compile times, but I can immediately think of a few places where we could use the library. I hope that we will find the time to do some experiments, soon.

Thanks to ESR labs for sponsoring location food and beverages :-)

Hi was really interesting. Will the slides/code examples be posted?

Very interesting lecture on a highly abstract level. Glad to see so many nerds :-) I'm really looking forward to future talks and meetings.

In the files section you'll find the directions to E.S.R.Labs. There will be signposts and FriendsFactory has a 24h reception which certainly will help you.
