BTW, there is a similar library in Mesos that's called libprocess and comes with the Mesos source code: http://mesos.apache.org

(And I hope this is not too intrusive here: http://mesosphere.io is hiring in Hamburg and San Francisco to work on topics like this, using libprocess and boost, C++11, etc.)

We're very lucky to have heard so much about such global topics in the cozy local atmosphere of a Munich tech-suburb

    Great topic! Thank you Christophe!
Also many thanks to Daniel for organizing and TOPTICA AG for being Sponsor/Host!

Very interesting, although I admit that I was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of details towards the end :-)

Thanks to Christophe and our Hosts!

    Unfortunately too far away...

We have a location now! Our meetup will be hosted by TOPTICA Photonics AG.

Just 15 meters for me to walk :-)

Do we have a location for Thursday?

So that means the set of C++ enthusiasts and soccer fans intersect? I always considered them to be disjoint! In that case we should move the date to 3rd of July.

Sorry, but I will have a garden Party organized for watching Soccer...

While I don't care about football, I'm flexible and I won't mind moving to 2nd or 3rd Juli if that helps.
    Daniel, any idea?

I don't care about football, so if nothing comes in the way, I'll come

Great topic and location but I'm not sure about the date: There is a football worldcup match on that day (USA - Germany, 18:00). In Germany that might be a "Straßenfeger" saying that people might prefer being in a beergarden.

I would really like to be there ... but it is the companies' education camp during that week. So for another reason I would prefer another date.

      June 12, 2014

    • Vladimir

Another day would be really nice :-)

      June 12, 2014

  • Daniel P.

Location will be Microsoft again, unless someone else would like to offer to host this event at another location.

It is a new library for asynchonous programming, It is based on the same principles (callbacks) as asio. Boost.Asio is mostly focused on I/O, asynchronous focuses on the asynchronous tools and parallel programming part (threadpools, ActiveObject, proxies, parallel algorithms, etc.).

    2 · March 31, 2014

  • Werner S.

Is Boost.Asynchronous the same as boost.asio, or is there a difference?
