Hi Fellow Foodies,

Since Bocce Ball wasn't well responded to this week and no one has RSVP'd for next week I have scratched it from the calender. I am back at the drawing board trying to plan another Meetup for our group.

I am really wanting to establish an active group of Foodies who are really serious about food, wine and friendship. It is disappointing when I take the time to talk with establishments to reserve tables and negotiate discount prices or extended Happy Hour for us only to have no interest or no response from the members. It baffles me why people join and then don't participate.

I would prefer to have this group meet in my home to cook, socialize and share the World of Food we all love. A culinary world tour theme is very popular. I would love to have a different country theme every month. However, I have only met a couple of members and we all have agreed that we all would like to know our members before opening up our homes. If you are friends, have met or already know other members in our group that works. We just need to know who you are even if we have met at another Meetup group.

I realize our budgets are tight and I am trying to find things to do that we Foodies love to do that are inexpensive or free. For example the up coming concerts at the Chandler Center for the Arts are all free. The cooking classes held at the Ristorante Tuscany are only $45 and includes lunch and a beverage. I have looked into classes held by other establishments and they are twice as much and we only get samples of the food. If you are willing to pay the price of a more expensive cooking course I can plan those too. There are some fabulous and exciting Saturday classes in Napa Valley held by the CIA I would love to attend. I just need to know what you are looking for and willing to pay. I have also looked into wineries in Temecula, CA suggested by a member. It is a fabulous idea. Temecula is close enough to drive and shared hotel rooms would keep the cost down. We are close enough to hop a flight to Las Vegas when prices are great so that we can indulge in the wonderful restaurants from many of our favorite Chefs. I am also looking into the new trend of the "Chef's Table". What an experience to sit right in the kitchen while we dine and watch it happening all around us!!! I recently toured the of kitchen of Thomas Keller's Bouchon located in the Venetian in Las Vegas. They are proud of their kitchens and love sharing what they do with us Foodies.
