Join us on December 30th at 7:30 pm as Ellen Mosko leads us through a yin inspired yoga workshop! This workshop will introduce a stillness-based yoga to new or current students that have traditionally practiced a movement style of yoga. On a physical level Yin-influenced yoga is done by placing the body in well-aligned long, passive holds to work on the deep layers of holding tension in the connective tissues of the body. Thus, this practice can reduce stress, increase range of motion and allow for a deep peaceful stillness within. Poses are done mostly on the floor and students are encouraged to work within their own range as we target specifically tightness in the hips, spine and legs. We will focus on being present to all that arises without judgment and we'll set an intention for the new year. This style can shift you and is a great complement to an active practice of yoga.“Yin practice takes you deeper into where you are, not out to where you think you should be” Sarah Powers Please wear comfortable clothing. Mats and props will be provided.
