You may have noticed that Marlene has stepped down as the group's organizer - she accepted a new job and has moved out of state. She ran the group very well and left some big shoes to fill! No one had stepped forward to take over organizing the group, but at October's meeting the attendees came up with a solution! While I am not able to attend every month and lead the discussions (travel for work) others indicated they would, but did not want to do the website activities. I have no problem with the website side of things and agreed to take care of that - so we're up and running again.
A few announcements:
- The $2 fee per meeting will stay the same for now. If attendance remains strong, it will be lowered down to $1.
- I've posted a poll - please find it under the "more" tab at the top of the site. I'm revisiting whether or not Wednesday is still the preferred night for most members. Wednesday is very popular for a wide variety of clubs and organizations and its difficult to find venues. If Wednesday is still the preferred, I'll work around it, but if another night is more popular, it should be easier to schedule.
- It is time to start working on the January through March line-up! Please email in your suggestions and I'll compile them and post a poll around the beginning of December. Voting will be open until the middle of the month and the top three posted before Christmas. This should allow time for members to purchase and read the January book.
- The December meeting is definitely being moved back one week. I'm working on a meeting place and the new date and location will be changed soon.
