Madison Tech Meetup #7: Accelerator Deep Dive & Clark
Details
This event is meant to provide valuable insight to any entrepreneur or person thinking of launching a startup. Drew University has been kind enough to sponsor and host the event. We hope that this will be the beginning of a close relationship between Drew and our entrepreneurial community.
Our first presenter will be Clark Lagemann founder of Health Options Worldwide (HOW) and organizer of Scarlet Startups. Like many entrepreneurs Clark was doing well in corporate America but saw an opportunity that he thought could have an impact on society and also allow him to build a successful business. He did his research, launched his company and then realized he had made many mistakes or that there where things he could have done better. He founded Scarlet Startups while working on his startup to help educated entrepreneurs. His talk will be an honest from the heart analysis of himself, his company and what he has learned.
For the second part of the presentation we will be doing a deep dive into the topic of Accelerators. For those who don’t know an accelerator is like a boot camp for startups. Many apply but only a few are selected. Once you start you will work at least 50 plus hours a week for 10-12 weeks with a team of seasoned professionals to build a company that is good enough to get funded.
Our panel will consist of Pervasive Group, NuSkool and Invid.io which are all members of Tech Launches first graduating class in 2012. These gentlemen will provide insights into their thoughts before, during and after their accelerator experience. Besides the understanding you will gain on accelerators we hope you will gain valuable insight on how to be better entrepreneurs
