Meetup #10 - Special Event - LEL at the WID

Details
Field trip! This month we will be visiting the Living Environments Lab (http://wid.wisc.edu/research/lel/) at the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery (https://discovery.wisc.edu/) to learn about VR research and to try out their CAVE (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cave_automatic_virtual_environment). Here's the plan from Erica Gill of the LEL:
"Kevin Ponto will start the event with a research talk. We will then escort attendees to our lab for the following demos:
• CAVE (Virtual Taliesin)
• Vive (one of the standard demo scenarios)
• Oculus Rift (point cloud data visualization of a house, representative of our work on the vizHOME (http://www.vizhome.org/) project)"
IMPORTANT, PLEASE NOTE THESE DIFFERENCES FROM NORMAL MEETUPS:
• We will not be able to provide pizza and drinks
• Later start time (7pm)
• Different location (parking info here (https://discovery.wisc.edu/parking))
• Limited attendance (40 people max, so please RSVP)
When you arrive at the WID, please check in at the Welcome Desk on the main floor. They will be able to direct you to our location.
Madison VR is a virtual reality meetup group open to anyone interested in experiencing and learning more about virtual reality. We have demonstrations of virtual reality hardware, including Oculus Rift, GearVR, Google Cardboard, OSVR, HTC Vive, and more. We're also encouraging anyone already building VR applications to bring it along and share it with the group.
