Special Critique Session

Here's how it works: Email 15 pages in Manuscript Format (Double Spaced, Times New Roman or Courier, Name in the header along with page numbers) to: [masked]

Pieces for this meeting are due by 3/20/2013

Please make sure that you use Doc or RTF file when submitting, not Docx.

Please include the Genre of the piece and also if it's a short story, novella or novel.

It's important to get your pieces in early so that everyone has time to read and critique them. I'll email the stories out to everyone 7 days before the Meetup.

Attendance closes 7 days before the Meetup so that everyone will have time to read the stories.

Each person will have 2 minutes to critique. There will be a timer to keep participants on time so that we can get to each piece in a timely manner. Please limit your comments accordingly and hit only the highlights so that we have enough time for everyone to be critiqued. They'll be getting your written comments, so there's no need to try and read all your comments at the table.

If you are submitting a piece of a novel, please include a short synopsis of what's gone on before so that people can focus their questions on the chapters submitted.

Sorry. I checked this in error. I don't have anything as long as 15 pages.

Up to 15 pages. It could be anything longer than a regular 5-6 page critique would allow

Great critique night! Everyone in this group is committed to the process with engaged and thoughtful responses.(in other words you can't get away with a thing!) Nice mix of genres. Of course the opera gloves stole the night.

Thanks for all the great feedback, everyone. I really enjoyed last night and the location worked well -- I hope we can go there again. Now I need to decide whether to submit that SS for the book or try another one.

Good meeting. Lots of great feedback but went longer than I expected and I had to leave before it was done because I wasn't feeling very well. Thanks everyone for your feedback.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
