The March Main Line Writers Group meeting - Wednesday, March 19 - A SIMPLE SYSTEM TO ROCK YOUR REVISIONS!
You've finished novel (or story), and you've done your happy dance, but now it's back to business. You know your work needs revision but where do you start?
This presentation has got all of your questions covered. Discover a systematic way of navigating your revisions and making sense of that first draft. You'll learn a step-by-step process for revision to guide you from rough draft to polished manuscript. No one said revision would be easy but with this simple system, it can be manageable and fun.
Gabriela Pereira is the Creative Director and Instigator of DIY MFA, the do-it-yourself alternative to a Masters degree in writing. She creates tools and techniques to help serious writers get the benefits of MFA-style learning without going to school. She holds an MFA in Writing from The New School and has taught at several organizations throughout New York City. When she's not teaching or working on DIY MFA, Gabriela enjoys writing middle grade and teen fiction, with some "short stories for grown-ups" thrown in for good measure. Julie Duffy is the founder and Director of StoryADay.org, an annual creativity challenge for short story writers held each May and a member of the Main Line Writers Group.
Our meeting place is Michael's Restaurant Deli in King of Prussia, just north of The King of Prussia Mall on Rt 202. The address is 130 Town Center Road in King of Prussia, 610-265-3265. The meeting officially starts at 7:00 pm but many of us come early (around 6:00 pm) to eat and socialize a bit - but you can order your meal at any time during the meeting. We use a private room and the acoustics are great. You'll have no problem hearing our speakers or each other.
Just a reminder that you can order a scrumptious meal at Michael's off their extensive menu. We don't get charged for the great room, but Michaels does have the expectation that attendees will order a meal. It is a fair expectation and the meals are very reasonably priced.
Mark your calendar for every third Wednesday of the month. Feel free to tell others and bring a friend or two.
As usual, any questions, please contact me, Gary Zenker, at 610-883-2346 or GaryZenker@aol.com. We are all looking forward to seeing you there.
