April Main Line Writers Group - Critique

The April Main Line Writers Group meeting is Critique Night! Get constructive feedback on your current writing projects by other members of the group.

You don't have to bring anything to the group if you don't wish to do so. You can participate by offering feedback on those who do bring pieces for critique and are welcomed to do so.

If you do wish to have a piece critiqued, please follow these guidelines: - Bring a piece or excerpt from a piece approximately 5 pages long - Please bring ten copies, double spaced and typed - If you would like to distribute it ahead of time, please contact Gary at [masked]. We often need to break into smaller groups to ensure that all pieces get a reasonable amount of time for reading and reviewing. If you send it to me, I will ensure that it gets to people who have indicated that they intend to come to the meeting.

Our meeting place is Michael's Restaurant Deli in King of Prussia, just north of The King of Prussia Mall on Rt 202. The address is 130 Town Center Road in King of Prussia,[masked]-3265. The meeting officially starts at 7:00 pm but many of us come early (around 6) to eat and socialize a bit - but you can order your meal at any time during the meeting. We use a private room and the acoustics are great. You'll have no problem hearing our speakers or each other.

Just a reminder that you can order a scrumptious meal at Michael's off their extensive menu. We don't get charged for the great room, but Michaels does have the expectation that attendees will order a meal. It is a fair expectation and the meals are very reasonably priced.

Mark your calendar for every third Wednesday of the month. Feel free to tell others and bring a friend or two.

As usual, any questions, please contact me, Gary Zenker, at[masked] or [masked]. We are all looking forward to seeing you there.

This was a great critique session. Everyone was supportive and had creative premises ranging from emotional and heart wrenching to imaginative and unique. Rewarding night.

Another wonderful critique night! So many wonderful people writing, sharing, and supporting one another. It is great to come together with friends and recharge yourself as a writer. This long-tenured group is growing for a reason. Next month: a wonderful speaker!

As usual, we are lucky to have such gifted writers share their work with each other. Truly amaZing to hear them read their work. Thanks to all of you for being brave enough to bring your works in progress and sharing your insights on other authors' works.

Excellent critique session. It's always inspiring to hear the interesting stories people come up with and the excellent tips the critiquers have to give.

I was a first time visitor and was a bit anxious about the critique. However, the stories were as varied as the club members, and the critique's were illuminating. This seems like a great group, and if your like me you'll want to be a part of this group.
