July Main Line Writers Group = Indie/Self Publishing!

The July Main Line Writers Group meeting: Self publishing panel discussion

Note date change for this meeting only to FOURTH Wednesday of the month.

Join us for a special evening dedicated to the discussion of independent/self publishing and the things authors NEED to know and do to be successful. The evening will focus on three key areas:

  • Being prepared to be self-published and the things YOU AS AN AUTHOR need to do in before and during the process
  • Prepping your work. The many things you never thought you would have to focus on in the file you use for going to paper print and e-print.
  •  Promoting your book. The many many things you will want to do to ensure that everyone knows your book has been released and how you can influence its sale. This last topic covers things applicable to publisher-printed authors as well.

Our presenters are authors themselves or involved with authors who are self publishing and can share their first-hand experience on what separates successful from...less than successful.

Just a reminder that you can order a scrumptious meal at Michael's off their extensive menu. We don't get charged for the great room, but Michaels does have the expectation that attendees will order a meal. It is a fair expectation and the meals are very reasonably priced.

This meeting is being help on the FOURTH WEDNESDAY of the month and is a one-time change to our normal schedule. For future meetings, Mark your calendar for every third Wednesday of the month. Feel free to tell others and bring a friend or two.

As usual, any questions, please contact me, Gary Zenker, at[masked] or [masked]. We are all looking forward to seeing you there.

Great meeting. I enjoyed giving Scott a hand with his presentation, and I learned quite a bit from the other speakers as well.

Thanks to the wonderful speakers who shared a wealth of info on self publishing. I often feel a bit overwhelmed by the sheer talent in this group, but I'm learning as I go.

The meeting was very informative and helpful. The wealth of knowledge in the room is very encouraging to me since I am just starting out in trying to get published.

Ok, my own boring presentation aside, we were so lucky to have such great people present on various topics related to Self/Indie Publishing. Thanks to Ellie, Susan, Scott and Tom for sharing their experience and insights. We know that prepping for a presentation takes a while and you all did wonderfully. And this is such a great group of sharing and caring writers. THAT is what really makes the group extraordinary. Remember also that Rosemary runs her monthly Self-Publishing group that offers more detail into the topic than we ever could in a single session.

What a welcoming, supportive, energizing community of writers. I'm delighted I joined this stellar group, and I'm motivated to spend some time on my own writing, which often takes a back seat to my business. I look forward to working with Main Line Writers at the August critique meeting. Gary, Tony, Susanna - Thank you for inviting me to take part in last evening's panel discussion about self-publishing, and thank you for treating me to dinner. It was a great evening!

Another wonderful, welcoming, informative learning session. Thank you, Gary, Tony, and Susanna. Keep up the great work! I am already looking forward to next month's meeting. This is the best-kept secret on the "Main Line." Folks who take the art of writing seriously should attend regularly to learn from the many wonderful presenters, writers, agents, and discussion leaders - and to enjoy the camaraderie of like-minded souls. It's always fun.
