Please join us in Downtown Wash. D.C. for FREE networking each month on 3rd Sundays noon. At this community event, we can meet in person. Please introduce yourself to members of the Allies Team and let them know you are interested in volunteering for the Major Giving Support Group project. This on land and online project involves many aspects. We are looking for volunteers who are near the project site in Washington D.C. near George Washington University and less than two blocks from the Foggy Bottom/GWU Metro Station! Please share with us what you think is needed to support people working in the functional area of Major Charitable Giving. What kind of support services would interest Major Givers and people who are in this line of work?

EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED!

The first step is to get to know each other better to see if we are ready to work together harmoniously with appreciation, forgiveness and understanding. These monthly community events provide opportunities to develop new contacts and to connect with others interested in similar topics. Express your interest to the co-organizers and attend a followup small group meeting for volunteers (at a different location).

WHEN: 12:30PM TO 2:30PM on the third Sundays of each month for community networking.

Save the third Sundays and 4th Sundays of each month in 2012 for connecting with people actively engaged in building a beautiful community.

Free admission; open to the public. We welcome visitors, volunteers, investors and others to come to make new contacts, develop new friendships and build community spirit with us.

This event is about initial networking to meet face-to-face. Then we can schedule followup small focus group meetings related to developing an Allies Team for Major Giving Support Group which will include support facilities, resources and related services. Because we focus on solutions, we begin with a series of conversations. This is a good opportunity to engage in conversations for friendship with people interested in Major Giving, people who work professionally in this area as well as business owners, organizers, Chinese and Asian leaders, clients, investors and others interested in developing new services, resources, programs and providing mutual support to solve major social and economic problems. Enjoy networking conversations over lunch. Have fun! Share your good sense of humor! (Free admission and networking; self-pay for food or soda you order.)

Become a founding member in a DC Major Giving Support group! Help shift the mental focus to what we want and what we appreciate in the world and in our lives. Come and build with a mutual support group for those involved in Major Charitable Giving efforts.

Share your thoughts about the proposed intention in the message board here (tab is near top of page). The following intention was adapted from A Course In Miracles, acim text 28.18 adapted:

"We are here only to be truly helpful. We are here to represent Source Who sent us. We do not have to worry about what to say or what to do because Source Who sent us will direct us. We are content to be wherever Source wishes knowing Source goes there with us. We will be healed as we let Source teach us to heal." (If you prefer, you can substitute the word Source with the word God or my Friend.)

If you want to join the Allies Team of volunteers who help to produce the 3rd Sunday networking event, come to help at 11:45AM. The general public comes from 12:30PM to 2:30PM.

BE a major giver of energy and express your Self by giving frequent gifts of appreciation to your friends and to the world at http://dailyappreciations.net (post your comments free in the Appreciation Blog), http://meetup.com/dailyappreciations/messages/boards/. Appreciation is friendship in action to enrich your life and the quality of life of those you care about! Experience your power to create joy with a small gift of positive energy and you have contributed to yourself and to the universe. You have counterbalanced the negativity by your gifts of positive energy.

There is no charge for the event, however, donations to charity via the nonprofit sponsor, Allies Building Community Inc. (A.B.C.) are tax deductible and appreciated! More info on the collaboration at www.archway2.org Bring a couple of dollars for the 50/50 game at the event.

The logo is an image for our approach as ABC allies, being friends and allies in action. Notice at the base level of the Friendship Archway monument, the position of the feet of the structure touching the earth may be at different locations, however when both sides move upward we can connect at a higher spiritual level of awareness of our shared interests and common stake as members of one human family. All of us share a common stake in peace on earth, wellness, friendship and other beautiful aspirations for humanity.

This strong visual image and a physical structure and monument was erected at 7th and H streets, Wash. D.C. in 1986. ABC allies called for and helped to develop this structure in Washington D.C. next to the Gallery Place Chinatown subway station (red, yellow, green lines). It is the only monument in Wash. DC that looks to the future rather than the past. We called this monument, the "Friendship Archway."

We hold in mind joy, friendship and prosperity for our human family. Together we are building a friendlier and happier local and global community by extending joy and friendship through providing free opportunities to connect with like-minded people on 3rd Sundays of each month in D.C. and by providing online spaces for your creative expressions of appreciations. Thank you for your support! We welcome you to share your thoughts with us at the Message Board of this group here (left column). We look forward to meeting you in person either at the 3rd Sundays get-togethers! You are blessed with infinite awareness! You are a Being of Love, Joy and Light!
