Make Chocolate From Scratch!

Chocolate is a food that is easy to get yet very few people know how chocolate is made and the differences between the various chocolate types. Even fewer have actually set their eyes on a cocoa bean, much less a cocoa pod.

In this class you will learn how to make dark chocolate from scratch for consumption, as well as learning the different typologies within the chocolate family. We will be using cocoa beans from different parts of the world, but primarily from Dominican Republic for its good-clean flavor. All cocoa beans are fair trade and organically certified.

The only ingredient we will use is cocoa beans and cocoa butter (optional), and a few tools to help us go through the process of making your very own chocolate. And if your family and friends love chocolate, imagine how they'll feel when you hand them a bar of your very own homemade chocolate. You'll be surprised how easy it is to make.

Cost is $35 + $15 of materials (MakerBar members pay only $15). No computer or tools required.

Hi, I'm coming with my daughter. Just wondering if there are any other slots open; I know someone else who may be interested.

I was a pleasure meeting you and your lovely daughter. I hope this class was a good experience for you. See you soon and have a great weekend!

I have become a bit obsessed with cacao nibs lately, but the closest thing to real equipment I own is a coffee grinder. This will be a fun class!

Hi there, is it possible to transfer the money from last event to this one? We have two people. We'd really like to check the event out and know fellow makers. It is a pity that we wasn't able to make the wood burning workshop last minute last time. Therefore I'd appreciate if this could be arranged. Thank you!

We should be able to do that, just pay the difference in cost.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
