Make Chocolate From Scratch!
Details
Chocolate is easy to get yet very few people know how is made and the differences between the various chocolate types. Even fewer have actually set their eyes on a cacao bean, much less a cacao pod.
In this class you will learn how to make chocolate from scratch for consumption, as well as learning the history and science behind chocolate. We may be using cocoa beans from different parts of the world, but primarily from Dominican Republic for its good-clean flavor. All cacao beans are fair trade and organically certified.
The only ingredient we will use is cacao beans (additives are optional), and a few tools to help us go through the process of making your very own chocolate. And if your family and friends love chocolate, imagine how they'll feel when you hand them a bar of your very own homemade chocolate. You'll be surprised how easy it is to make.
Note: We will not be making milk chocolate during this class, however I will give you instructions on how to do it at home.
Cost is $45 + $15 of materials. No computer or tools required. Please arrive at 1:45pm, class starts promptly at 2pm.
About your instructor:
Jamie Fundinger is a Dominican architect and professional chocolatier.
