Our keynoter is Chris Rill, co-founder and CTO of New York-based Canary Security Systems (https://canary.is/?gclid=CjwKEAjwsr-6BRCLvrj785rbhTsSJADjUxakQV_cHlKVNtNLAAN_4CWLYxxbYz2sgd1T3C1K6-vWlhoC6_fw_wcB?utm_source=meetcanary&utm_medium=ooh&utm_campaign=summer2015). Originally launched on Indiegogo, Canary sold $2 million in 78 countries within its first month of pre-sale. Now, Canary devices are active in 140+ countries. At Canary, Chris oversees technical strategy and partnerships, while working with the team to drive innovation and future product development. Chris is a captivating speaker and will share in great detail what they did right (as well as mistakes to avoid) in building this amazing company.

Dr. Linh Le (PhD) will be presenting Bon Bouton by Flextrapower (http://bonbouton.co/index.html). Our final presenter (of this very full evening) will be Bevan Weissman, cofounder of New American Public Art (http://www.newamericanpublicart.com/). Poised at the intersection of public art, architecture, and technology, NAPA develops interactive installations that investigate the nature of social space in the public sphere. Bevan will speak about their current installation under construction at NextFab, and how they combine art, engineering and data collection for a holistic approach to placemaking.

This Meetup is sponsored by Arrow Electronics in cooperation with SecondMuse (organizers of NYC's Next Top Makers), the New Technology Meetup and the City of Philadelphia. The Science Center is underwriting the food and NextFab is bringing the beer!

The program will include an opening Community Shoutout. If you are a Maker and looking for help (finding investment, recruiting a team, whatever) you'll have a few seconds to pitch yourself and your ideas.

We'll also have tables set-up for hands on demonstrations by the Sponsors and select local Makers. If you'd like to display, please contact me right away, as space is limited.

If you'd like to volunteer, please be in touch (I could really use some more help).

Also, we're looking for interns to help us to network to the Makers (and supporting stakeholders) within our region.
