I'm a maker. I've always made/modded/hacked/broke stuff. Fortunately I basically do that for a living now at 42 Technology, a design consultancy near Cambridge. I manage their lab/workshop, and design/analyse/build new products.
I've not got that room/facilities at home to work on my projects, but I have horded some useful kit over the years. Things I'd consider long term loaning makespace: oscilloscope, orangutan microcontroller, huge bench vice, small disc sander, stack of polycarbonate sheet. I like the concept of regularly meeting up with like-minded individuals in a dedicated space to make things.
