September Meetup: Tool Jam!

As it's back to school time we thought a practical focus on some tools would be useful for our September meetup.

Net Tuesday Vancouver recently held a "Online Tools for Charity. Speed Dating Format" event in which they took a quick look at various tools and services people are using:

Imagine Pecha Kucha meets the Association of Fundraising Professionals meets Ted Talks meets SXSW meets Speed Dating (well, ok, maybe something a little less extreme)

So -  we want to try something similar for mcrn2!

Pick Four Tools...

Let's pick four tools that are interesting but maybe not fully explored in previous meetups.  For example:

Discuss them...

We'll give each tool 15-20 minutes to find out:

  • How does it work?
  • Who's using it?
  • How can it work for non-profits?

Last minute pitch...

We should also have time for anyone to stand up and share their favourite tool in two or three minutes....

Tell the #nptech world...

Let's also use something like Social Source Commons to publish and share what we find out too

Any suggestions?

Can you talk about a tool that might be of interest to non-profits and campaigners?

Let us know what you think and we can tailor the meetup accordingly...

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
