We will have 20% discount codes for Velocity Europe available to all members, plus we are raffling off a FREE pass, so be sure not to miss out on that.

This will be the first meetup for the Manchester Web Performance Group.

Mission Impossible – Effective performance evaluation as part of a CI approach
Join Channel 4 and Intechnica for an unashamedly technical exploration of performance assurance in a continuous integration (CI) environment. In their presentation, Mark Smith (QA Manager, C4) and Jeremy Gidlow (MD, Intechnica) will go into detail about the approach to performance assurance on a recent, major development project at C4, including the risks, challenges and outcomes. Then, they will lead what promises to be a rather heated debate aiming to define precisely what an approach to performance in CI should look like. Finishing with an overview of the planned CI-based approach to Phase 2 of the C4 project, which is due to start early 2013.

About the speakers:
Mark Smith joined Channel 4 as Head of QA early 2012; prior to this Mark was QA Manager at ASOS.com (http://www.asos.com/) for over three years during a period of huge expansion and international growth.
Jeremy Gidlow is founder and MD of Intechnica (http://www.intechnica.co.uk/), a consultancy specialising in performance troubleshooting and engineering, whose clients include Channel 4, ASOS, GSK, Nisa Retail, Swinton Insurance and Irish Life.

Many thanks to Intechnica and LateRooms.com, who are sponsoring the first meetup. If you'd like to speak at or sponsor a future meetup, do get in touch.
