Teachings of Abraham

This group began meeting in January 2011 and met almost weekly until the end of 2011. The inspiration for this group was the Law of Attraction Teachings of Abraham made available by Esther and Jerry Hicks. Central to these teachings are the concepts:

  • Each of us is a powerful spiritual being that has chosen to have a human experience in a physical reality.
  • Well-being is the basis of all that is, and it is continually offered to us in every moment by our spiritual selves and other spiritual sources.
  • What we focus our attention on and think about determines how we feel and produces an energetic vibration that attracts to us experiences that have a similar energetic vibration.
  • By being more conscious and deliberate about how we focus our attention and what we focus our attention on, we are able to attract into our lives the kind of experiences we desire.

The idea for the group was that it would be a weekly opportunity to get together with others interested in the Law of Attraction to become more aware of how it is operating in our lives and how we can use this awareness to have more of the kind of experiences we desire.

Meetings were organized around discussion of the principles of the Law of Attraction and how we experienced it in our daily lives, and a group meditation or group toning for an experience of increased well-being.

Channeled Spiritual Guidance

In July 2011 we began including in the last part of most meetings a segment where Cynthia, one of the group organizers, would channel a group of spirit guides who refer to themselves as The Council. The Council would offer spiritual guidance and answer participants' questions about manifesting desires, deliberate creation, the Law of Attraction, meditation, and related topics.

 

Current Status of this Meetup Group

Due to low attendance and the cost renting a meeting room, Cynthia and I, as the group organizers, decided at the end of 2011 to give this meeting a rest and concentrate on other groups we participate in.

Our primary interest continues to be in how we can bring more of who we are as eternal spiritual beings into our day-to-day experience. When enough group members express a desire to get together and we can cover the cost of the room rental, we will happily schedule more meetings. Until then we wish to thank everyone who helped make our meetings during 2011 such an uplifting experience.
