Taggart Peak (Abbotsford) - Intermediate Hike - 5-6 hrs - rescheduled
Details
Let's puff up the Abby Grind and bag Taggart!
This hike, mostly through deciduous forest, offers an excellent cardio workout for the first hour. The trail rises steeply to a nice lookout, gaining 400m in less than 2 km, thus its moniker as the "Abbotsford Grind". After the lookout the hiking becomes less strenuous to the peak.

Hike Stats:
Total Distance 11 km (return)
Estimated Time 5-6 hours
Average Grade 14.6%
Net Elevation Gain 774m; Cumulative Elevation Gain 1006m
We'll be meeting in the truckers' parking lot across from Tim Horton's, Hwy1 Exit 95 Whatcom Road. It is only five minutes from there to the trailhead. We can carpool or convoy from there. I'll be in a burgundy Honda CRV. Please be on time, we will wait max. 10 minutes. If you're late, you can proceed directly to the trailhead (directions are in the link above) and catch up as I won't be very fast on that steep part!
I will cancel or reschedule this hike if it's raining. The lower steep portion of the trail gets quite muddy and slippery in wet weather.
