QGIS Starter Course by Mie Winstrup, the cofounder of QGIS Denmark chapter

We are looking forward to see you to our QGIS-introduction-course this Saturday at 10.00. The event takes place at Septima where Mie works. The address is Frederiksberggade 28, 2 tv.,1459 København K.

If you haven’t installed QGIS on your computer, then please do thisbefore hand. The latest version is QGIS 2.14 which will be used in thedemonstration.

If you have problems with download, then you are very welcome toarrive at Septima at 9.45 and we will look at it together.

The day will be a combination of introductions to features and taskswhere you will work with the presented feature. The plan for the dayis something like this:

Introduction to GIS, QGIS and why QGIS is a strong tool
QGIS user interface and datahandling and visualisation in QGIS
Task 1: Load data into QGIS and experiment with datavisualisation
How to create a map with QGIS
Task 2: Create your own map
A light lunch will be provided
Kortforsyningen and the dataservices available
Task 3: Use WMS from Kortforsyningen in QGIS
OSM data in QGIS
Task 4: Use OSM data in QGIS
Digitising new features in QGIS
Task 5: Experiment with digitising in QGIS
Useful plugins and geometryanalysis
Task 6: Continue working on what you find most interesting
