Maryland Jedi Meetup No. 4 - Training!
Wednesday, January 21, 2009 8:37 AM
Here's the rough agenda for Sunday's meeting. So far we have at least 8 people planning to make it. Please contact me for directions if you need them!
3:00 to 3:15 Introductions
This meeting will likely include people from many different groups and interests, so this will give everyone a chance to share names, a little bit of their background, and why they're interested in being there.
3:15 to 3:30 Background and Logistics
We'll share a little background about the concept of Jedi Realism and what the group entails for those new to the group. We'll also briefly go over a few group logistics including possibly voting on the Maryland Jedi Order emblem.
3:30 to 4:00 Guided Meditation
Zindel will lead a 20 to 30 minute guided meditation to help center the group and also introduce any newbies to meditation in general. Meditation is one of the best ways to bring forth one's presence and can be instrumental in identifying issues and gaining insight on how to solve them. Practice with bringing forth one's presence and becoming conscious of just being, is rewarding beyond measure. To slow down one's mental background noise is just one way that meditation accomplishes these goals.
4:00 to 4:30 Energy Sensing Exercises
Moonshadow (Aimee) will lead some energy sensing exercises which will introduce participants to how to both see and feel energy. The exercises will be progressed along depending on everyone's skill level.
4:30 to 5:00 Ice Cream Social
Following the meeting, there will be an ice cream social for those who want to stick around and get to know each other better. If anyone wants to stay after 5 pm, people can stay as long as they like and we can either just chat or do whatever activities people are interested in.
This meeting is intended primarily to serve as a meet and greet to introduce new members of the group to each other in addition to some basic training. Every month the Baltimore Chapter will have new workshops based on member interest and skill level. Volunteers to lead workshops and feedback is definitely welcome.
Thank you Aimee for hosting this Jedi training meetup!
