The next official selection for Mashable’s social book club MashableReads is Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel.

Station Eleven tells the story of a Hollywood star, his would-be savior, and a nomadic group of actors roaming the scattered outposts of the Great Lakes region. Set in the eerie days of civilization’s collapse, the narrative spans decades, moving back and forth between life before and after the life-altering pandemic. Named a 2014 National Book Award Finalist, St. John Mandel’s spellbinding and award winning novel is one of our favorite reads of 2014.

Join us in welcoming Emily St. John Mandel to MashableReads on Thursday, January 8th at Mashable HQ in New York City at 5:30 PM. If you can’t make the meetup in person, tune into our Google Hangout with the author on January 13th.

Follow @Mashreads (https://twitter.com/mashreads) on twitter (https://twitter.com/mashreads) and use the #MashReads to discuss Station Eleven leading up to the meetup.
