Maxine's "Forever Young" Ladies Pages

Hello! Thank you for visiting Maxine's "Forever Young" Ladies group page. If you decide you would like to be part of our group of awesome ladies, there's something that we'd like to ask you to do. Please add your photo. There are a lot of ladies named Judy, Kim, Sandra, and Brenda on the site, and we want to know which one you are when you RSVP and/or attend an event.

Many of our ladies join us having heard from friends and others about the fun times we share. The quotes below are taken directly from the site, without sharing names of our members...we hope you have a lot of the same experiences!

If you have not yet clicked on the link on the left hand side of the page..."About us..." , please take a minute to check out that information.

Please take particular note here...We welcome ideas from all members who would like to suggest their favorite places to go or events not to miss! Do you want to do the planning for an activity, social or educational? Do you want to "run with the ball"? This group encourages everyone to participate...try being an Event Host! We are truly open to your personal suggestions! As an event host, all that is expected of you is that you just stay within the parameters of the group when creating an event and take us to your favorite haunts or new fun places. love struck How cool is that? wink

Please remember, too...Neither the Organizer, nor our Event Hosts are pros at this...we are learning the ropes as we go along. We're all doing the best we can and hope that you'll join our group with enthusiasm, excitement and a positive attitude.

A few things to be said...

1. We (this group or its organizers or its Event Hosts) are not liable in any way for any damages you incur or cause by attending our events in accordance with the laws of the State of California. Joining Maxine's waives any claims whatsoever.

2. As the Organizer of this group, I reserve the right to remove any member and refuse membership as I see fit for the greater welfare of the group. Please note...this is an original group, not a spin-off of any other group. The annual dues are $10 due the beginning of each year. This helps us to pay for the costs of the MeetUp website. Any funds received in excess of the website fees or costs incurred by the Organizer and Event Hosts will be used to cover the costs of extras at our planned events. Please respect and appreciate that no other MeetUp Group's activities shall be posted, commented upon, or promoted on this group's pages unless the organizer of the other MeetUp group and I, the Organizer of Maxine's, have co-initiated and agreed to a combined activity or event with such promotion or mention.

No solicitation of business that profits either directly or indirectly any member will be allowed on the website unless the Organizer has approved it or an event is organized and approved by the Organizer for such benefit.

3. Carpooling can be a cost-effective way of travel for this group for long-distance trips. When a carpool is announced for a meetup, we will ask for drivers. If you want to ride instead of drive, you can send an email to one of the drivers (via her profile) to ask if you may ride with her to the event. PLEASE DO NOT ask for a ride with a comment on the meetup event. You can also wait until you arrive at the carpool location to find a ride if there is still passenger seating available. Before you ask for your ride, be sure you trust the driver to drive safely and that the vehicle appears to be in good driving condition.

Always, be sure to offer your appropriate share of gas money (cash only) for the round trip to the event. Being respectful of your driver's support by contributing something at the end of your carpool will not only help defray the cost of gas, but encourage the driver to offer her services another time.

You do, of course, have the option of driving your own vehicle while traveling to and from the events of this group or otherwise providing your other personal or public means of transportation. Please refer to Item 1.

If you wish to drive members to an activity in a carpool using your vehicle, please arrive at the carpool location a few minutes before departure time. Let everyone at the carpool site know that you are offering to drive your car and providing rides to passengers who ask you for a ride. As the owner of your vehicle, you are welcome to deny a ride to anyone without providing a reason for your action.

Be sure your vehicle is in good "working order" and have a full tank of gas and a clean interior. You may ask if someone would like to sit in the front passenger seat and help "navigate" while you drive. CAUTION: Be sure to accept only cash from member passengers to cover the costs you will have of driving your car for the event.

4. Consideration and Common Courtesy are valuable attributes. RSVPs are a way to assure your "place" in a Meetup. As you sign up/Join or RSVP for our events, you are confirming your participation at or in those events. If situations occur that cause you not to be able to participate in an event, PLEASE take a moment to go to the webpage and CHANGE your RSVP to "NOT GOING". If, on the other hand, you know you are not going to an event, do nothing. Yes, that means that if you choose to not attend a posted Meetup, there's no reason for you to RSVP a NOT GOING if you have not yet placed an RSVP.

If you do RSVP, we will be looking (and waiting) for you - so if your plans change, please change your RSVP or contact the Event Host! Being courteous and respectful of other members and the establishments that host our events helps maintain the kind of group everyone wants it to be. Some of our events are member-private and/or limited in number. Members who show up without an RSVP may cause a real challenge for the host or venue and may be denied attendance with the group. confused

WHEN THERE IS A WAIT LIST...Please, always be considerate of other members. Change your RSVP to "NOT GOING" in a timely manner so that other members might be able to fill in the empty spots. In a pre-determined Head Count, IF you do not remove your RSVP from those events...YOU personally "RESTRICT" the access to those events of other members who may be on the "WAIT LIST"! Your consideration is always appreciated; we do not want to monitor your RSVPs, however, on occasion we will, and expect you to follow these simple courtesies. Causing other members to miss activities by reason of not changing your RSVP in a timely manner may be cause for ending your membership.

Attendance Policy : After 3 No Shows, membership may be cancelled. No Show is when you have RSVP'd Yes and do not attend the event. Absences may be excused on a per person basis in the event of extenuating circumstances. Last minute cancellations are definitely frowned upon.

Photos are often taken at our Meetup events and posted on Maxine’s site and Maxine's or members' Facebook profile pages. It will be understood that if you allow yourself to be photographed by a photographer at our events, Maxine's will not be liable for the public publishing of your image. If you prefer your image not to be published in any of above mentioned places, please alert any photographer at the event. We also suggest you duck out of camera range (or hide behind another). We will try our best to keep your image from appearing on our Meetup webpage or on the above profile pages, but make no promises.

Every few months, we will celebrate our members' birthdays! Let us know if it's your birthday that month, and we will be sure to recognize it at the Meetup birthday celebrations.
