Welcome, Meatless Mainers!

We are a Maine-based Vegetarian Dine-Around on a variable schedule. We ensure there are vegan meals available, but all vegetarians and those interested in vegetarian dining are welcome. This is the extension of an idea born from the Maine Animal Coalition's Vegetarian Food Festival in 2007. The goal is to generate more interest in and acceptance of a vegetarian lifestyle as well as to encourage restaurants to offer more vegan selections in an effort to reduce animal suffering. Everyone is welcome and each diner is responsible for the cost of his/her own meal. To be as flexible as possible while showing regard for our mission, we have only two requirements: no meat at our events and respectful conversation.
We use our site as an online community to share ideas, recipes, suggestions, keep a calendar of events of interest and to ensure that we are continuing to meet the needs of the group. To facilitate our online community and the organizing of events we ask that you join our group to participate. Membership is free.
