"Walking meditation is really to enjoy the walking—walking not in order to arrive,just for walking." —Thich Nhat Hanh

Walking is a sacred, healing practice and is a beautiful way to reconnect with ourselves and our world. When we walk slowly, we breath slowly and we begin to touch the peace that is always available in each of our hearts. No experience is required. In fact, our teacher, Lama Yeshe Jinpa often says, “beginner's mind is best.”

Before walking, we read a short prayer and an inspirational passage.

Join us for a relaxing walk in the park every 2nd and 4th Saturday mornings.  Meet the group in front of Lion's Roar Dharma Center at 3240 B street, in East Sacramento between 9:15 am and 9:30 am.  We start by walking three times around the inside of our temple, then through a beautiful, shady neighbourhood and finally on a path that surrounds McKinley park.  Please remember to bring some water in the summer.

On Wednesday evenings, from 6:00 to 7:00, we also have a weekly drop in meditation at Lion's Roar Dharma center on B street led by Dana.  Meetup dates for this meditation are listed below.

Both drop in sitting and walking meditation are suitable for anyone with a sincere desired to bring more peace, not only into our own lives but into the lives of friends, family and people everywhere. 

We also have an occasional Right Livelihood series of beginner programs on Thursday evenings at Lion's Roar Dharma Center on B Street. This is an invitation to pause and reflect deeply, and increase our understanding of our journey as individuals and leaders.  Any future meetups are listed below.
