This group is for anyone interested in volunteering overseas. Whether you've volunteered at home or away before, travelled some or all of the world and now interested in a new experience, or just new and curious about all the options, this fun, informal, creative group is for you.

Explore responsible travel opportunities, connect with like-minded members, and ultimately go on a new adventure. Absolutely anyone is welcome to join, especially if they have a desire to make a difference in our world by travelling with a purpose. Volunteer-travel can involve eco-efficient construction, teaching and orphanage work, and wildlife research and conservation in incredible parts of the world. The best place to start and learn all about the different programs is by joining the Melbourne International Volunteers Meetup group.

As a group we will host local speakers, see footage from 'in-the-field', discuss fundraising ideas to help us achieve our goals, put on events, pair up with groups around the world, celebrate achievements abroad, and simply educate each other on how we can make the world a safer, cleaner, happier place to share. We have no religious affiliations and operate as a non-government group, and we're happy to host anyone interested in exploring the world under an adventurous lens.

We have decided the best way to describe our group is through a mission statement: Melbourne International Volunteers is dedicated to creating an inclusive space for everyone interested in volunteer opportunities, abroad and at home, by providing a supportive network which aims to improve socially and environmentally responsible travel.
